Our Faith and Approach to Scripture

Our Mission

The Holy Text exists to help people engage more deeply with Scripture by providing tools that support study, reflection, and discipleship. We believe the Bible is worthy of careful, lifelong study and that technology can serve the Church when it encourages people to spend more time in God’s Word, not less.

Our goal is not to replace pastors, teachers, churches, or Christian community. Rather, we seek to equip believers with resources to ask better questions, explore Scripture more thoughtfully, and grow in their understanding of God’s revelation.

Statement of Faith

We affirm the historic Christian faith as expressed in the Scriptures and summarized in the great creeds of the Church. Specifically, we believe:

  • The Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and trustworthy Word of God and serves as the final authority for faith and practice.
  • There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  • Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of humanity, rose bodily from the dead, and will return again in glory.
  • Salvation is by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone, and cannot be earned through human effort. We also affirm that genuine faith bears fruit in love, obedience, and good works as a response to God’s grace.
  • The Holy Spirit indwells believers, transforming them into the likeness of Christ and empowering them for faithful living and service.
  • The Church is the body of Christ and is called to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, and serve the world in Christ’s name.
  • All people are created in the image of God and possess inherent dignity and worth.

Our Approach to Scripture

The Holy Text is built around a literal, historical, and grammatical approach to biblical interpretation. We seek to understand Scripture within its original literary, historical, and cultural context while recognizing its enduring relevance for believers today. The platform is designed to help users:

  • Explore biblical passages and themes.
  • Identify relevant cross-references and connections within Scripture.
  • Understand historical and cultural context.
  • Discover how biblical ideas develop across the broader narrative of Scripture.
  • Engage more thoughtfully with God’s Word.

What The Holy Text Is—and Is Not

The Holy Text is a study companion, not a spiritual authority.

It is not a pastor, priest, teacher, church, denomination, or substitute for Christian community. The platform does not establish doctrine, provide infallible interpretations, or replace the wisdom and accountability found within the Church.

Because The Holy Text uses artificial intelligence to assist with research and study, users should thoughtfully evaluate all outputs against Scripture, trusted Christian teaching, and the guidance of their local church leaders.

Our aim is not to tell people what to believe, but to help them engage more deeply with what Scripture says.

Commitment to Humility

Faithful Christians sometimes disagree on secondary theological matters. The Holy Text seeks to present biblical information accurately and fairly while encouraging users to approach Scripture with humility, discernment, prayer, and a desire to grow in knowledge and love of God.

We welcome feedback from pastors, educators, ministry leaders, and Bible students as we continue improving this resource in service of Christ and His Church.
